If you're new to this site, welcome to YOUR interactive neighborhood web site. I'm happy to provide it for all of us to use. And yes, it's safe and very family-friendly. There's everything from online coloring and story-telling for the wee ones, to homework help for kids, to recipe sharing and groups that share similar interests. Summer break flew by and here we are at the "back to school" season. For some, this will be the first year that you'll lead your little ones to the bus, some will see their young adults start their final year of high school, and of course everything in between. You can feel totally comfortable when your children go to the "Just for Kids" (K-12) page after the homework and chores are completed. Lots to do to keep minds active and also have some fun!! As the buses start rolling again, we all need to be on heightened alert to be watchful of children heading to and from the bus, or for those who have to make the walk to school. Let's all keep our eyes open and help all of our kids stay safe. The "Our Schools" page is designed to keep district and school information right at your finger tips. Local schools will be encouraged to use this site and the calendar as well, to help you stay informed about all of the upcoming events and school closures at your child's school. Our "Community Calendar" is intended to keep all of up to date on all of the local events, activities, and school schedules. Use this so everyone in the neighborhood knows when you're having a garage sale or there's a neighborhood get together, or anything else that we should all know about. Check out those "Free Classified Ads" and see what's for sale that you may need, or feel free to post something that you need to get rid of. The "Give Until It Helps" page offers different places to donate books, used clothes, furniture, or even cars. Non-profits don't have the budget to haul things to the dump that we should have done ourselves. Please give responsibly!! Many of these groups are always looking for volunteers to help out too. Do you have a few hours a week to help out? "Neighborhood Pics" is a place to post pictures of your family vacation, cute kids, cuddly pets, weddings, births, beautiful sunsets, and anything else that is not objectionable. We want to share, but never offend. I'm a proud flag waver, always have been, and firmly believe in supporting those who have voluntarily chosen to represent our country in the armed forces. We have these people to thank for our continued freedoms. "Support Our Troops" is a perfect place to recognize past and current members of the military. Please send me information and a photo if you'd like, of the person that you would like to honor and I'll get it on this page for you right away. Be sure to check back often for new local merchants that may be offering money-saving coupons. We're all trying to cut back these days. Every little bit helps. You'll want to sign up for the monthly newsletter so you don't miss a thing. You have my personal guarantee that your information will NOT be shared with anyone. Knock on the door below to take a quick tour around "your" neighborhood web site. Thanks for stopping by, for the first or fiftieth time. Hope you come back again soon. ~Candise
